A unique and international chance of comparison with the Jazz Festivals all over the world. It’s now opened a platform of exchange with the Vossa Jazz: artists and new productions.
Parma Bergen back-and-forth: ParmaJazz Frontiere with Roberto Bonati, his artistic director, are just came back from Bergen – Norway – where, from the 6th of may to the 5th of june, it took place the show case Jazz Norway in Nutshell 2010, organized by the West Norway Jazz Centre and Natt Jazz, in a close relation with very important istitutions as the Norwegian Jazz Forum and the Norwegian Foreign Office. ParmaJazz was the only guest from Italy.
TheNattjazz is one of the most important festival and meeting point in Europe. thanks to the international breath of the appointments dedicated to the contemporary jazz.
It’s certanly the main in the North of Europe, a part of the world which is giving a lot of success to the research of the worldwild jazz in this period.
More than 35 delegates to get the picture of a language that permeate the state of being contemporary of the musical research, more clever and elegant by now.
A moment of very important comparison and suggestions.
Since its first appear in 1973, the Natt Jazz’s pourpose is to show the great names of the worldwild jazz, but also let play musicians almost unknow, perhaps they make their first appearance in Bergen, for example Arve Henriksen, who is now a star in the European jazz and more; an extensive space is been given also to the young musicians; on the whole at the Natt Jazz they meet each other and they compare themselves about the numerous lines of the contemporary jazz, thanks to the contamination of the genres.
“We talked about– Roberto Bonati said – the musical projects, the situation of the artistic overview of our countries: artists, enterprises and festivals. Different sounds. We also talked about logistic problems, about different organizations choises. In the same time we talked about the legislative problem of our different countries. An important occasion of growth and reflexion. Interrelate with other organizers and other cultures oblige you to look the problems and choises from a totally different view angle.
Since years ParmaJazz Frontiere is, for all of us, a very powerful telescope on the world: artists, management, very different sounds and creatives, always leave the mark to the publish, to the organizers and the technicians when they go on the stage. We took-home a baggage full of suggestions that we want to develop in the next months and, above all, we take-home an agreement of exchange of artists and new productions with the Vossa Jazz.
